3 Months Old

Yes I am just about one month behind on this post.
The day of Karsten's three month birthday, my mom was watching him on her usual Fridays while Will and I were working, and guess what, the little stinker rolled over for her on our couch. Yes I was glad that he rolled over for Nana and not some complete stranger but still, he is suppose to do all his firsts for mom right? Well so she told me that since it was on the couch, it doesn't really count because of the slant and all (trying to make me feel better). Well so then that weekend, I practically kept him on his stomach at all times so that I too could experience this amazing moment in my little buddy's life....well of course, it never happened. So on Monday, I am back to work and Will is back to watching Karsten. Well of course, I get home after a hard day and I ask Will, figuring the answer would be no since I did not get a phone call, Hey did Karsten roll over for you at all? And what does he say, ya he rolled over a lot. WHAT??? He rolled over for you too and you aren't even excited enough to call me up and let me know that my little boy has rolled over now for everyone but his mama? So what do I do? I flip him onto his tummy and tell him he is not going anywhere until he rolls over for me too. So after crying (just for a little bit and me asking Will if he cried before he flipped over for him, looking for some reassurance, but with Will responding that no he never cried) he rolled over for me!!! So I wanted to see if it was just a fluke so I put him on his tummy again and he did it again!! So now I wanted to take a picture of it, so I put him back on his stomach, got the camera ready, and before I am even prepared to take a picture, he did it AGAIN!!! Three times for mommy!! Ya Karsten!! Well since then, he did it a few more times for Will that week but has since decided that he either has mastered it and is bored with it and therefore won't do it again, or has forgotten just how to do it and how fun it was for mom to watch him. Oh well. He is growing so fast!!!
Another first was when Karsten slept through the night for the first time (I consider that to be sleeping for eight hours) two days before his three month birthday. I thought it was just because we had just taken his three month old pictures that evening and we wore him out by being outside for an hour telling him to smile constantly. However, that Saturday, he slept again through the night and continued to do so for two weeks!! I even once had to wake him up myself to feed him before I headed off to work. But then, like the rolling over bit, he again started to wake up every three hours to eat, and then is now finally back to 6-8 hours of sleep per night. The little guy is always keeping us on our toes. Making life interesting for sure!
